Tiffany Christopher and Friends (including for the first time Syd from Sydney’s Emporium on drums!) played last Sunday at Mad Hope 4 Positive Change, a concert and silent auction charity event benefiting Architecture For Humanity (not just building - building better). It was a great show that opened with a charging cover of Brown Sugar! TC addresses this in the interview, and plays one of the quieter songs (In A Caravan, the circus song) that translates so well to the radio studio atmosphere.

Bonnaroo has been great so far. On Thursday MGMT made it freaky to begin. Friday night My Morning Jacket with special guests, and The Disco Biscuits playing til sunrise. It’s Saturday afternoon now and I am ready to rock on the radio and on into the night.

Definitely check out the article from CMJ about me — Daniel Gold — and KXUA (click here).

Also check for the Bonnaroo reviews and live blogging on honesttune.com from Honest Tune Magazine [LINK]

I will host a 2-hour shift live from Manchester, Tennessee, on Radio Bonnaroo 101.5 FM (Saturday 7pm to 9pm, broadcasting to the 80,000 people camping there), plus a chance to interview all kinds of musicians backstage at the festival. I don’t know what bands I might get to interview but I am looking forward to it. I will report back here with pictures, recordings, and a radio review in the coming weeks. I also want to introduce you to the new website I am launching, which will be growing from scratch at www.honest.fm.

The new Honest FM will soon replace my old radio blog at start playing immediately if you go to this link on Bonnaroo.com.

If you have a Comment for Dgold about Radio Bonnaroo, post your comments here with emoticons. :medal:

Here is the Bonnaroo Preview podcast on my site, mp3 for streaming or download, along with the complete setlist, 15 comments from listeners, and many more links to music. That page is really the home of the winning show for radio-roo. Check it out if you get a chance.

At Bonnaroo I will officially announce my new website and new radio show name. I pre-announced it at Wakarusa Festival last weekend, and sent out the inside scoop to friends of Honest Tunes on my contact networks. Can haz business cards! Here’s the story:

I’m shortening the name to Honest FM.

Honest FM means the same thing as Honest Tunes Radio Show, if you think about it, and I have a great new super-short website address: Honest.FM — so the name of the radio show = the address of the website. It’s more unified and punchy. But the same mix of roots music & organic electronic, new bands and classics, an honest tune with a lingering lead. I hope you like it and find the new URL easy to remember, and bookmark. This post is like telling the big announcement I have been working on for months. Thanks to my friends, advisers and regular listeners for the feedback and comments on the Honest FM concept I’m developing.

In the coming weeks I’ll display a new logo, new website redesign, added mp3’s both archival and fresh for 2008, new blog features, and all the same 50+ podcasts already available from past years of Honest Tunes episodes. I will continue to produce a weekly live FM broadcast and simultaneous webcast on KXUA 88.3 FM Fayetteville, Tuesday nights around 8PM Central time. New name… Same bat time, same bat channel.

I’m also making hip new t-shirts for Honest FM. Justin and I will be sporting one of the prototype “T”s at Bonnaroo. I will let y’all know on the new site when there is a chance to get your Honest FM t-shirt.

Of course I’m the most excited about the variety of bands scheduled to play at Bonnaroo this week and I am going to see as many of them as possible. Thanks again to all the friends of Honest Tunes who helped me accomplish this year’s Bonnaroo in style. Including: Justin, BRiffel, Turbo Dave, Stefie, Muck, Dallas, Skippy, Greg, Goodie, Phoreal, Zippy, Kimockfan, J, OB, LHDawg, Mom and Dad, Ben and the CMJ staff.
