We All Died
Lept behind ol’ grandma’s suitcase
Kissed the gal I loved the least
Told my sis, ‘Get on without me’
Shot down a bluebird just for fun
We all died once before
Brought back to life through death’s back door
We all died once before
Crossed the endless wasteland smiling
Laid down beneath empire’s shadow
Left my mark upon the country
___ was bound for glory
We all died once before
Brought back to life through death’s back door
We all died once before
Loved the land’s most lucious ladies
Leaned on crooked politicians
Put my money to good uses
Fought before we drew up truces
We all died once before
Brought back to life through death’s back door
We all died once before
We all died once before
Brought back to life through death’s back door
We all died once before

i love the reincarnation theme that runs through this and so much of trevor’s work – many interpretations/dialogue of G1 and G3, don’t let it down, have the character talking to a lover – i see/interpret many of his songs to have a personal moment that leads to reflection – this refletion seems to spark a conversation with a metaphysical part of himself that transcends death and exist in everything.
