Don’t Curse The Night
Where is everyone
Hiding the love?
What you are
Do you have some
To share with me,
Or should I give up?
Should I go back to sleep,
Should I go back to sleep?
I’m locked in the lamps
Of for-the-night tramps
Setting their camps
In light of the fires
Stoking beside
Feeling the heat
Keeping the beat
Loaves in the street
Don’t curse at the night
You can’t win that fight
Let the stars shine bright
Carry you on
Everyone’s feeling loose
Everyone’s feeling good
We’re in the caboose
At the end of the line
It’s about time
Breaking it down
Take it to town
Turn it around
Don’t curse at the night
You can’t win that fight
Let the stars shine bright
Carry you on
There’s a spirit that screams
There’s a spirit that shouts
There’s one for bad dreams
There’s one that’ll help you get out
If I had ya’ still
Sleeping beside
Sacred lil’ girl
Baby sleep tight
Don’t curse at the night
You can’t win that fight
Let the stars shine bright
Carry you on
Don’t curse at the night
Let the stars shine bright
You can’t win that fight
And I can’t carry you home
{Jam}
Don’t curse at the night
You can’t win that fight
Let the stars shine bright
Carry you on
Don’t curse at the night
Let the stars shine bright
You can’t win that fight
And I can’t carry you home

Love this song. I hear a few different lyrics on the studio version … here are my corrections:
What are you on
Stoking desires
Clothes in ( or closing?) the street
… those are just the ones that i feel aren’t obvious.
What do you think?

I could easily be wrong, but it sounds to me like the lyrics for the 2nd verse go as such:
I’m lighting the lamps
Before the night tramps
Set up their camps
And light all the fires
Stoking desires
Feeling the heat
Keepin’ the beat
Closing (or “clothes in”) the street
And for the 3rd:
There’s a spirit that screams
There’s a spirit that shouts
There’s one for bad dreams
There’s one to help you get out
You find out you’re still
Sleeping beside
The same little girl
Oh baby, sleep tight
