Darkened Hall
Darkened hall and twisted stairs
Soundless walls and flashing lights
Quickly now without a thought
Coursing through denatured heights / Forcing you to natured heights
Counting steps in tongues and tricks
Laying down with fevered spells
Lost among the scattered stones
Looking in the wishing well
Heard her once but in my dreams
Shadow forms are remembering
‘Cause to me you’re dead asleep
Turning days and tumble in / Turning dazed and tumbling
tumbling tumbling…
Although fruitless visions drip
Friendships fat and gangly tall
Passage booked on pleasure ships
Known but once and not at all
Hiding from officious eyes
Can see ‘em teeth and viscous lips
Uninformed but well armed / along
Afraid escape down alley slips
Darkened hall or alcohol
Fully gassed with throttle on
Let them get past me again
Transmission then mutation gone
Darkened hall or alcohol’d
Fully gassed with throttle on
Let them get past me again
Transmission then mutation gone
Darkened hall and twisted stairs
Soundless walls and flashing lights
Quickly now without a thought
Coursing through denatured heights / Forcing you to natured heights
Count in steps in tongues and tricks
Laying down with fevered spells
Lost among the scattered stones
Looking in the wishing well

“Darkened Hall” is a rare Trevor original song, probably debuted at Coffee Bean Brown 2002. It was played in the soundcheck with false starts and then layed down perfectly in the show. They played it again at CBB 2003.

Another nickname used for this song at first was “Dazed And Tumbling.” Does this confirm some of the unknown lyrics in the middle bridge of the song?

Love this song. Has Trev covered this in any of his solo shows? I mean this is too good of a song to only have been played three times! Here’s to hoping Baltimore and the 8×10 get a little dose of this in May. At least someone will get to hear it, even if it isn’t me.
