Chenoa
She wears a scarf wrapped tightly around her head
When she wakes me in the morning with her fingers on my skin
She takes me in, knows where I’ve been, knows what I have done
But when she’s gone the emptiness around me comes undone
Who knows who I’ll be seeing with the coming season
Whose wooden shoes may come unglued when we go out drinking
Or if my happiness right now is borrowed from the future
I’ve been there before cause I’m melting just like gold
Ignoring any reason
She come out of nowhere, she come out of the darkness
I’m thinking that she might be a figment of my mind
As I’m drinking coffee as she draws with chalk on the pavement
She’s telling me the troubles that she’s traveled in her time
I go down to see her just because I know she wants me
I look her up I look her down I kiss her on the mouth
I’ve come to take you home after you finish working
Gonna set the chime, I’ve got to wake up on time
Turn the night light out
I watch while you sleeping til you turn on to your side
I’m thinking that you’re mine and that I want to treat you right
With my fingers in your hair I’ll say your middle name
You say that I say it wrong, I’ve got to say it anyway!
Chenoa, Chenoa, Chenoa, Chenoa… Chenoa, Chenoa, Chenoa, Chenoa

one of my favorite songs. The acoustic version by Coffee Bean Brown is simply wonderful. The song flows endlessly from verse to verse, never stopping for a bridge or chorus, ever-growing and building and running like a river from the heart. There are other threads on the forum that talk about the origin of the song’s title, and the fans opinions of this lil’ number.

Is there any way to get the studio version of this song that was previously on Trevor’s myspace?
