Carter Hotel
All But Forgotten
Red lights a’shinin
a’higlightin’ the stains on the wall
carnal yearnins’, saggin’ ceilins’
all a’minglin’ like the olive and Gin
worm king don’t dig too deep
it’s never as hard as it seems
Evaporatin’ like the mist in the noontimes
a warm bath, like a bottle of moonshine,
dripping faucets, and old new york prophets
call to life lost souls in the pipes.
Worm king don’t dig too deep
It’s never as hard as it seems
Ashen faces, solemly pacin’,
past the headboards of carpet and lice
Pigeon people, pick pocket minstrels,
they all have a light to shine………..
…….everythings gonna be just fine

Main part is actually D-Am-G-D, not D-C-G-D

Unless I’m hallucinating, I believe that after the line (or lyric) “they all have a light to shine” is the line “WE all have a light to shine” which is repeated two times.
